Discover everything Komiža has to offer
Komiža is renowned for being one of the warmest towns on the Adriatic. This pearl of Vis, with a history reaching back to the 12th century, is rightly called a miniature heaven on hearth. The stories behind almost every façade, as well as the streets and promenades in Komiža, are an inexhaustible source of inspiration and pleasure, and its beauty resists the test of time. Intriguing, classy and unique, a town with many seductive faces and a destination where you will always return with a smile on your face
Did you know that more people from Komiža live in Los Angeles than in Komiža itself? After World War II, the entire island was turned into a military zone, and due to its geographical isolation and relatively weak connection with the mainland, young people began to emigrate. Today, there are ten times more residents from Komiža living in Los Angeles than in the town itself. Numerous residents who survived half a century of isolation will tell you how Tito set Vis back, but at the same time saved it from over tourism in terms of excessive construction and large-scale commercialization
