Blue Cave
This cave is a theatrical backdrop where the nature plays with shapes and colours leaving the visitors breathless. It is located in the Balun Bay on the east side of the islet Biševo. The cave has two openings, a smaller one, artificially deepened, accessible by a rowing boat, while the second opening is like a vault and much wider, allowing the sunlight to penetrate the cave. Around noon the sunrays enter the underwater opening, reaching the Blue Cave, and reflecting the white seabed thus illuminating the cave with a shade of navyblue and the objects underwater with the shades of silver
Stiniva Bay
One of the most beautiful beaches in the world – Stiniva – is hidden within reach of Komiža. It was shaped during the Ice Age, and due to its exceptional natural resources, the beach is under special protection. Few years ago, the renowned world portal “European Best Destinations” declared it the most beautiful in Europe
Fishermen’s museum
The museum is located in Komuna, a Venetian fortress on the Komiža’s waterfront. It has a representative collection of original items of boat and fishing equipment from local fishermen, for centuries known as the best and most famous on the Adriatic Sea, as well as a collection of items that were used for fish processing, a craft once highly developed in Komiža. Among the exhibits, the replica of the famous Komiža’s fishing boat, called Gajeta Falkuša, attracts special attention.
