Licinian’s epigram
Licinianus Epigram from the year 474, carved into the rock above the water source Pokrivenica by the sea, testifies to the sources of living water from which Živogošće got its name. This important archaeological document composed of 16 Latin Hexameters was carved by Licinianus, a Roman nobleman who thus paid tribute to the source of fresh water that still flows in this area
Živogošće Franciscan monastery
The monastery, founded in 1616, was for many centuries the centre of spiritual life and literacy of this region, with a rich library and valuable works of art. The place got its current form in the last forty years, when significant tourism development in these areas began

Živogošće consists of three smaller, unconnected places on the coast: Porat, Mala Duba and Blato
