Church of St. Mary – Lady of the Pirates

Church of St. Mary – Lady of the Pirates, was built in the mid-16^th century, by the seaside in Komiža. The name “Lady of the Pirates” was given when the painting of St. Mary was allegedly stolen by pirates only to be washed out on the beach in front of the church after the pirate ship was wrecked, there is a record of this from the beginning of the 18^th century. It was built in the Renaissance style and has a somewhat unusual shape, as it consists of three connected churches with three connected triangular facades
