Church of the Holy Spirit

This church is one of the simplest and smallest churches on Vis. It is located on the highest peak of the island, the Hum hill, at 560 metres above the sea level. The church has a narrow door and two small windows, resembling more of a cottage. The Gothic vault is the only feature of style, due to which the church is assumed to be from the 15^th century, but this may not be correct, as there were examples of late styles. For several years, the Austrian army forbade any religious service in the premises. Nowadays, mass is held in this church once a year, on the Feast of All Souls (50 days after Christ’s resurrection)
