Blaca Desert

Blaca Desert

Once famous Glagolitic desert from 16th century, later the astronomical observatory is situated on the eastern slope of the valley, between Bol and Milna on the southern part of the island of Brač and is an unique monument of our littoral. Built on a sharp and high cliff is some 3,5 km far away from the sea. First it was a cave bordered by stones, later annexed by hermits who built bungalows for various purposes (kitchen, cellar, furnaces and similar). During the period of well-being were built luxurious highrise buildings.
