Once a place of winegrowers, fishermen and sailors, today a hit destination with the most beautiful beach in the world

Discover everything Bol has to offer

Zlatni rat beach
This heavenly beach is one of the most beautiful pebble beaches in the world and the most recognizable landmark of Bol. It was created by the deposition of fine golden gravel around the submarine reef, extending like a tongue into the sea. Under the influence of winds, waves and sea currents, the peak of the “Zlatni rat” constantly changes its shape, making it different and interesting every time. The beach is a protected natural area and a favorite place for surfers from all over the world
Blaca desert
On the slopes of Vidova Gora, in the southern part of Brač, in the 15th and 16th century many priests sought shelter from the Turkish attacks. Two Glagolitic priests from nearby settlement of Poljica found shelter in Ljubitovica cave in 1551. This was the beginning of a settlement where a monastery and a church, as well as various other buildings, would be built over the years. Blaca has gradually grown into a real historic pearl that, like a chameleon, blends in with its surroundings and which should be visited by everyone coming to Brač. The Blaca desert is a candidate for the UNESCO World Heritage List. In addition to very interesting buildings, here you can find an observatory, a rich collection of antique weapons, a library, a collection of antique clocks…
Vidova gora
Vidova gora on the island of Brač is the highest mountain of the Adriatic islands and one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Adriatic. Its sides are completely different. On the southern side steep rocks collapse into the sea towards Bol while the northern side descends gradually as a gently sloping karst plateau ten kilometers wide. From the top is a breathtaking view of Zlatni rat beach and the blue sea

Escape to your own

In Bol, indulge yourself in various adrenaline-pumping sea activities, but also divine gastronomy inspired by the sea

Bol is an old fishing village that lives in symbiosis with the sea. So you won’t go wrong by treating your palate to grilled fish or a seafood salad. Add a sip of Plavac, a wine that has been drunk on Brač for centuries, and you will experience a real explosion of flavors
A popular way of preparing meat is “peka”, and most gourmets believe that this method of food preparation is the peak of ember cooking. Veal, beef or lamb with potatoes, vegetables and mediterranean spices are placed in baking dishes and cooked under the iron bell (“peka”) covered with ember
Bol is a favorite gathering place for windsurfers from around Europe and the world. The windy sea channel between the islands of Brač and Hvar provides ideal conditions for windsurfing. Four surf centers are available to windsurfers in Bol
In the unique Zlatni rat beach area you can enjoy many watersports such as water skiing, windsurfing or perhaps take a ride in boats, pedal boats, gondolas, kayaks… Adrenaline addicts will try crazy rides on banana boats and rubber rings while the jet skis are reserved for the bravest ones

The oldest island town

Bol is a very special settlement in many ways. First of all, it is the first and the oldest coastal island town. Unlike the other coastal settlements which were located in sheltered bays, Bol is located on the open shoreline. Hence, placed alone on the southern, open coast, next to the pebble beaches which resemble aligned pearl beads of a necklace
