Picturesque little bridges
Throughout history, man has built bridges, wooden and stone ones, expanded the old ones, restored the destroyed ones. Some bridges testify to this even today with their layered structure. Vrboska was nicknamed “Little Venice” in Croatia precisely because of its small bridges. Although it is known as the smallest town on the island of Hvar, Vrboska is a true treasure of the island. The town was founded in the 15th century, and due to its picturesqueness, it is the subject of several works of art, while the camera simply adores it.
Soline bay
It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic, a real paradise for sailors and lovers of untouched nature with turquoise sea and the thick shade of pine trees. Soline beach is located just one kilometer from the center of Vrboska. The beach is spacious and pebbly and is ideal for families with small children as it is abundant with infrastructure, entertainment and catering facilities
St. Mary of Mercy Fortress
The most impressive architectural jewel of the village, unique in the Adriatic region, is certainly the fortified church of St. Mary of Mercy. On the southern glade of the naturally protected Vrboska is dominated by a church/fortress that was built at the beginning of the second half of the 15th century as a Gothic single-nave church with a rectangular apse. Originally not fortified, it was destroyed in the Turkish attack in 1571 and was rebuilt in the present-day form of a church/fortress a few years later. This is the most beautiful church of this kind in Croatia and is among the most beautiful from that period in Europe. The church once housed impressive Renaissance works of art
