Published in Culture and sights

The church of St. George was built in the pre-historical castle above the mouth of the river Cetina. A baroque church with one nave and semicircular apse that is covered with a two-eave stone roof. At the entrance is a covered cloister which was built according to Poljice sacral building tradition. The church is an important place where believers gather for the festival of St. George, who is the patron saint of Poljice. The Prince of the Republic of Poljice was traditionally elected in front of the church.
