NEW TOURISM FOR CENTRAL DALMATIA WITH THE DIGITAL NOMAD VISA

If there is one thing that 2020 has taught us, it is that tourism is changing. And while many businesses and destinations have reported reduced business and traffic, new opportunities are presenting themselves.    Among the most exciting, perhaps, is the announcement from Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, that Croatia will be only the second country in Europe (after Estonia) to introduce a digital nomad visa, following an initiative from Dutch entrepreneur Jan de Jong. De Jong has been successful in business since moving to – you guessed it – sunny Central Dalmatia and Split back in 2006.    Digital nomads are people who are not location-dependent for their jobs. As long as there is a good Internet connection, they can work anywhere in the world. It is estimated that there will be one billion remote workers by 2035, a number that perhaps looks conservative in the corona era.    The one thing that many digital nomads crave is a great lifestyle. And when it comes to lifestyle, there are few better places to consider than Central Dalmatia.    The region is extremely safe, affordable, accessible, gorgeous, full of great food, wine, nature, culture and authentic experiences. What a wonderful place to come each day when you leave the office!   Final details of the Croatian digital nomad visa are being ironed out, but it will mean that verified nomads who meet certain criteria (no police record, health insurance, a verifiable level of income) from all countries will be welcome to live and work for 12 months in Croatia and enjoy this wonderful country while running their business from a laptop.    The perfect combination of business and lifestyle! Are you a digital nomad who we will be seeing on the Dalmatian coast soon?
