Flights to Split Airport: KLM, Austrian Airlines, easyJet and ITA Gear Up for Summer
Spring has nearly sprung, and summer is right around the corner, with many new flight announcements to Split Airport arriving for eager travelers around Europe.
First up is Dutch national airline KLM, which will run its first flight to Split Airport as part of this year’s summer flight schedule on Sunday, March 27. Two flights a week have been announced from the start, on Saturdays and Sundays. The airline is planning several operations before the Easter holiday (April 17) and should operate daily between Split and Amsterdam from the end of April. KLM should run up to three daily flights between Amsterdam and Split in the peak summer season.
More good news comes from Austrian Airlines, which is reintroducing seasonal routes from its central hub in Vienna to Split at the beginning of the summer flight schedule. Namely, the first Austrian Airlines flight between Vienna and Split will also run on Sunday, March 27. After that, Austrian will operate between Vienna and Split six times a week, every day except Tuesdays, from the beginning of the summer flight schedule. In the second half of April, Austrian Airlines will increase to daily flights to Split. There will be 2,000 seats offered between Vienna and Split in the first seven rotations, using Embraer 195 and A321 aircraft.
easyJet will operate on 14 regular lines to Split Airport with ten lines beginning this month:
Amsterdam, from 28.03., five times a week,
Basel, from March 27, daily,
Berlin, from 27.03., four times a week,
Bristol, from 27.03. four times a week,
Geneva, from 27.03., four times a week,
Glasgow, from 27.03., twice a week,
London, from 27.03., six times a week,
Manchester, from 29.03., three times a week,
Naples, from March 28, four times a week,
Paris, from March 29, twice a week.
easyJet will operate 29 return flights to Split Airport in March alone, offering 4,524 seats!
Finally, the new Italian airline ITA Airways will run this summer between Rome and Split airports, just as Alitalia operated before.
The Rome-Split line will run once a week, every Thursday through August. Croatia Airlines, Vueling, and Wizz Air also operate on this route.
