32nd Omiš Cultural Summer Festival Ongoing until August 31

On Sunday, July 18, 2021, on the plateau behind the National Library of Omiš, the 32nd Omiš Cultural Summer opened with a performance of a new Little Prince Theater play, Mate Matišić’s comedy ‘Gastarbajterska Fairytale.’ The 32nd Omiš Cultural Summer Festival, organized by the Omiš Cultural Center, is held until August 31.

“We have made an effort to make the festival content rich in diverse cultural content that will be offered this summer. I want to draw your attention to the observance of all necessary measures of the Croatian Institute of Public Health so that no one who participates in the 32nd Omiš Cultural Summer is endangered.

We ask all visitors to adhere to all prescribed epidemiological measures set at all public gatherings; hand disinfection at the entrance and mandatory physical distance. Since the number of guests is limited, it is necessary to book a ticket for specific events, which must be picked up at least two days before the program, or you can buy a ticket at the CZK Omiš office or online through Croatia tickets for specific content,” said Petar Buljević, director of the Omiš Cultural Center.

In this year’s summer program, visitors will be entertained by the best theaters and actors: Ljubomir Kerekeš, Robert Kurbaša, Emir Hadžihafisbegović, Krešimir Mikić, Vilim Matula, Filip Juričić, Amar Bukvić Zijah Sokolović, Arijana Čulina, Ivana Giove Župa, Marijan Grbavac, Dražen Miholjević, Branka Trlin, Ana Maras Harmander, Enes Kišević, Boris Svrtan, and others. There is also a children’s puppet show, ‘Slon bon ton’ by the Sunflower Theater.

The music program will feature excellent artists: Terezija Kusanović and Vesna Podrug Kossjanenko, Elvis Stanić Group, Bruno Milčetić, Zrinka Posavec, Marko Lasić, Klapa Mirabela, and Omiš City Music.

The Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Franciscan monastery hosts three evenings of excellent chamber music within the Ostinato Festival – 4th International Chamber Music Festival Omiš, artistically designed by the superb pianist and artistic director Lovre Marušić. In three festival evenings on August 14, August 18, August 21, 2021, guests can enjoy Arsen Dalibaltayan (Armenia-piano), Dina Ivanova (Russia-piano), Elizabeta Adzaga (Croatia-piano), Ivan Skanavi (Russia-cello), Tatjana Timchenko (Ukraine-soprano), Danijel Gašparović (Croatia-piano), Darija Auguštan (Croatia-graduate solo singing), Tatiana Kachko (Russia-piano), Lovre Marušić (Croatia-piano), Anna Lysenko (Ukraine-viola), Tomislav Damjanović (Croatia-piano), Nikita Geller (Belarus-violin), Latica Anić (Croatia-cello), and Sona Arzumanyan (Armenia-violin).

The gallery exhibition program of the summer will include three exhibitions: Ana Tomasović (Honey, be the color of orange! Honey, be the color of love!); Goran Gizdavčić (When cherries bloom.); Arijana Čulina (All my colors).

“Dear visitors, the program is planned in good faith and with great effort and passion that Omiš in the summer months, after the end of FDK in the cultural offer, has the most excellent cultural program. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, especially those related to the current pandemic, we reserve the right to change the announced programs.

And one more thing, while we are waiting for the opening of the road and the construction of the bridge over the Cetina, we still think that the most crucial bridge in Omiš is the bridge of culture,” concluded Buljević.
