The former pastoral settlement of Humac, close to Jelsa, is a unique example of well-preserved rural architecture and, according to many, the most authentic village on the island of Hvar. The beauty of this, completely abandoned, 15th century pastoral settlement is in its harmonious small stone houses, courtyards, balconies, narrow streets and nature that have merged with the village. If you visit this charming location you will be given the opportunity to enjoy the offer of a peculiar restaurant open during the summer months, a starting point of organised visits to the nearby Grapčeva Cave, the most important prehistoric site on the Adriatic in which signs of culture dating back to the 4th millennium BC were found.
