Is a unique natural phenomenon that extends over approximately 200 square kilometres of a mountain which long ago was said to have its legs in the sea and its forehead in the lightning. 87 churches and chapels were built in the Biokovo karst whilst the mountain itself has more than 400 pits and caves, some of which are always filled with snow and ice. The highest peak of the nature park is Sveti Jure with its 1762 metres above sea level, while it is the highest peak of the Biokovo mountain range and the third highest peak in Croatia.
