History of Drvenik starts high within the cliffs of the Biokovo mountain from where the inhabitants fenced from the Ottomans’ attack, within the homonymous fortress surrounded by walls. In the middle of the 20th century, after a strong earthquake, inhabitants moved near the coast. Today Drvenik is a quiet tourist place ideal for a family holiday, with small sandy beaches situated in the shadow of spicy pines.
