Opera: Ero the Joker

Ero the Joker or on Croatian “Ero s onoga svijeta”, is the comic opera in three acts preformed every year in the place where Milan Begović was inspired to write the libretto for it. The plot revolves around a rich young man from a neighboring village who pretends to be a poor peasant in order to find a girl who will love him for who he is and not for his money. The final dance is Vrlika’s circle dance which leaves nobody indifferent. The dance and richness of Vrlika’s folk costume blend into the harmony of colors, movements and songs, testifying to the indestructibility of the traditions of Croatian people
