Unique experience of Easter on island of Hvar
For five centuries the inhabitants of Hvar have a special way to celebrate Easter –„Za križem“ ( following the cross ) procession . This is a unique rite of special devoutness and expression of religious and cultural identity of the inhabitants of central part of the island of Hvar developed from the procession that was organised as a sign of penitence for a small cross that in the city of Hvar cried bloody tears by miracle in the midst of social turmoil on the island in 1510 before the very insurrection of Hvar commoners .This unique experience of Easter on Hvar by participation in „Za križem“ procession– inscribed on UNESCO non material world cultural heritage includes visit to parish churches participating in the procession (Pitve, Vrisnik, Svirće, Vrbanj, and Vrboska ).

Anticipated duration of programme is four days and it can be organised once a year from Thursday to Sunday during Easter holidays only. Along with the participation in the Procession we also organise the tour to the town of Hvar as well as to all parish churches from which the procession goes around. It is for the groups of 12 to maximum 40 persons. Accommodation is possible in hotels/boarding houses classified as 3* and 4 * and the transfer at arrival/departure from ferry port to the hotel is organised too. Professional guidance is possible in Croatian, German , English and Russian ;upon request in other languages ,too.
