Lady of Stomorica
Situated at the site of former Villa Rustica, a Roman land-estate which is nowadays covered with vast olive groves, the Stomorica church is dedicated to Our Lady (Stomorica = St Mary) and was built in early Romanesque style which predominates the 10th century sacral architecture of Brač. It has been restored several times but the original shape with a hanging arch over the doorway has been preserved. It is believed that once there was tower with a bell-gable beside the church. The church is a known pilgrimage site during the Assumption of Mary celebrations and the valorisation of the bioenergetic traits of that place points to excellent therapeutic and recreational potential
