Invading the region for centuries, the Ottomans left a lasting mark on the cultural heritage of Dalmatia. One of them is the mosque located within the fortress. It was built in 1537 after the Ottomans conquered this area. After the liberation of Klis in 1648, the mosque was turned into a Christian church dedicated to Saint Vitus
