Dramatic depiction of Jesus’s Passion – Imotski
Imotski is widely known for its live depiction of the Passion of Jesus Christ, in which more than 450 costumed amateur actors faithfully depict the most moving events and scenes from the life of Jesus.
The scenes of the Last Supper, the washing of the apostles’ feet, the Garden of Gethsemane, Judas’ departure from the Last Supper table, the trial of Jesus and Jesus’ Way of the Cross, which passes through the stone streets of Imotski all the way to the fortress of Topana, which represents the Golgotha, are shown.
This stage performance brings together thousands of people from the Imotski region, as well as believers from other parts of the country. Every year “The Passion of Imotski” takes place on Palm Sunday, and this year it will be held on March 24th, 2024, starting at 7 p.m.
