Among the treasures of the gallery of the Franciscan monastery in Zaostrog is the proof that the world-famous Dalmatian dog is an autochthonous Croatian breed. It is a painting with a motif of the Jesus’ Last Supper by an unknown author from the 17th century, depicting also the well – known black spotted pet, and this is considered proof that the Dalmatians are an autochthonous Croatian breed
