Above the Blue and Red lakes
This route prides itself on being named after the most famous pearls of the region of Imotski: Blue and Red lakes. It starts in the town centre, at the so-called old bus terminal, i.e. Franjo Tuđman square. It continues through the town’s high street, Šetalište Stjepana Radića, and along Put Gaja in the direction of Posušje, from where it turns left under the sinkhole Džardin towards the macadam road above the Blue and Red lakes. Once you get back on asphalt, climb above the Red lake and pass the school in the area of Brlog in Gornji Proložac. The route follows the macadam road again, technically demanding but which provides you with a wonderful view over the fields of Imotski, the canyon of Badnjevica and the mountains Biokovo and Zavelim. Take the ancient roman road down across the vineyard towards the canyon Badnjevica and then take the asphalt-macadam road towards the archaeological site Opačac – a Franciscan monastery from the Middle ages and the church of St. Mary. Go across the cluster of mills Perinuša on a macadam road, which turns into an asphalt one at some point, riding uphill through Glavina Donja along the longest street of the city to get back to the starting point.
