A few thousand years after the first trees were planted, the olive groves have expanded on the once unthinkable and inaccessible border areas of these climatic zones. Jure Perić from the Perić hill was one of the first olive growers on the Imotski border line. Although the idea that Imotski and its fertile soil was singled outfor the cultivation of grape vines, right from the start it was noticed that the Imotski soil prefers olive trees. Today there are about 70 thousands olive tree in the Imotsko polje (Imotski field), and thanks to the mild winters and hot, arid summers, the Mediterranean climate is the natural climate of this magical plant, which is also known as the olive climate.
