1,500 year old olive tree in Kaštel Štafilić
This exceptional monument of nature, a fifteen hundred year old olive tree is located in the Maslina kindergarten courtyard in Kaštel Štafilić.

It is known by Kaštela inhabitants as Mastrinka, and its seeds are assumed to have been brought from southern Italy or Greece in ancient times.
It is part of the oilseed variety, having small leaves and fruits. Interestingly, the tree does not have a major root but a whole root system that has developed over an area of about a hundred metres. The trunk has a circumference of six metres, the canopy a diameter of twenty-two metres and it is ten metres tall.
