Following a successful first season, the Dalmatian (Dalmatinska) Marenda series returns with a second season, bringing even more engaging stories about Dalmatian gastronomy and local traditions. The series is a continuation of a project by the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board, with the first episode of the new season premiering on 11 January 2026.

Across ten new episodes, viewers will have the opportunity to explore different parts of Dalmatia and the gastronomic specialities characteristic of each area. Through local restaurateurs, chefs, and residents, the series presents the philosophy of marenda and Dalmatian culinary customs, highlighting that marenda in Dalmatia is not just a meal, but an essential part of the Dalmatian way of life—an expression of enjoyment in food and time spent with family and friends.
The first episode takes viewers to Trogir and is dedicated to fish-based specialities. Subsequent episodes showcase local dishes and culinary traditions from Omiš, Brštanovo (Klis), Šolta, Vis, and Komiža. Two episodes set in Omiš follow the preparation of local river specialities, accompanied by the sounds of traditional klapa singing echoing through the town’s narrow streets. An episode filmed in the village of Brštanovo, within the municipality of Klis, presents marenda in an authentic family estate setting featuring a library with more than 30,000 titles.

Special emphasis in the second season is placed on the islands and their distinctive gastronomic traditions. Two episodes filmed on Šolta present authentic island dishes, ranging from artichokes to local products and indigenous wine varieties. Four episodes filmed on the island of Vis explore island life through stories of local fishermen and residents, illustrating the close relationship between the islanders and the sea, as well as the importance of fishing as one of the island’s key economic activities. One episode filmed on Vis also features Luka Nižetić, a singer for whom Komiža has long been a second home, as he prepares the traditional marenda of his childhood.
All episodes will also be available on the Central Dalmatia YouTube channel.
