Kavanjin Mansion
The house of the noble family Kavanjin who gradually turned their summer home into their permanent residence, was built in the period from 1690 until 1705. It is assumed that under the garden lie the remains of the Roman “Villa Rustica”, an ancient rural farm. One of today’s symbols of Sutivan, the Latin inscription OSTIVM NON HOSTIVM (doors open only to friends) is carved on the southern doorway of the Masion
The tower of the former mill from the beginning of the 19th century is the best preserved of the 125 grain mills that existed around that time on the island of Brač. It is a well-known symbol of Sutivan, often photographed due to its coastal location and picturesque appearance, surrounded by centuries-old pine trees. The mill has been converted into a residential building, although many original details have been preserved in its interior, but anyhow it is possible to pay a visit to the mill only if it is prearranged with the owners

Brač wooden cannons

Legend has it that the island of Brač, often attacked by pirates from neighbouring Omiš, in preparation for their defence made a cannon, but due to the absence of steel a decision was made to construct it out of wood, more precisely from solid fig trunk. During the first attempt to fire a stone ball at Omiš, the cannon, made by unskilled locals from Brač, exploded and killed several Brač gunners

Sutivan, like the whole island of Brač is known for production of wine and olive oil. It is recorded that in 1893 Sutivan produced around 9.300 hectolitres of wine and 3.500 hectolitres of olive oil, which is 1/4 of the total production of island of Brač
