There are three big Marian shrines in Central Dalmatia: Our Lady of Sinj in Sinj, Our Lady’s shrine of Vepric near Makarska and Our Lady of the Island in Solin.

Thousands of pilgrims gather in Sinj on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption on August 15th. Pilgrims take the road that has been walked for centuries towards the largest Marian shrine in the south Croatian region.

The path to Our Lady of Sinj is 148 kilometres long and goes in the direction of Solin-Sinj-Livno-Tomislavgrad-Rama.

The Croatian Lourdes shrine of Vepric near Makarska, is an unavoidable place of pilgrimage on the path of spiritual renewal throughout the year too.

The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the Church of Our Lady of the Island in Solin, is celebrated on September 8 with a solemn procession around the sanctuary with its statue of Our Lady.
