CULINARY EVENT “THE NIGHT OF HRAPOĆUŠA”

Every year on August 14 at 9 pm the inhabitants of the village of Dol on the island of Brač organise an event called “The Night of Hrapoćuša” in honour of the hrapoćuša cake that is Dol cake.
This cultural and eno-gastronomic event has been taking place for a decade whilst the ethno-eco village of Dol with only a hundred inhabitants hosts thousands of visitors the same evening.
Everything happens in honour of the traditional Dol cake hrapoćuša which was named after the Dol caves to which it resembles.
Besides tasting the cake, in the evening thematic exhibitions can be seen and tasted – vitalac, bread from the bread oven, salted anchovies in olive oil and homemade liqueurs.
