Gastronomic and wine heritage of Kašteli as a confectionery inspiration

chocolate 5 2019During the Extreme Chocolate Makers TV show, which premiered on 4 May as part of the new edition of Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, a multi-award-winning artist from Britain specialized for creating original confectionery – Aggy Dadan – presented her imaginative delicacy shaped as a chocolate sculpture of a girl from Kaštela in the traditional costume as well as a cake map of Kaštela, and explained the inspiration she drew from the cultural and eno-gastro authentic offer.
– The magical view from the balcony I enjoyed during my last visit to Kaštela was a wonderful inspiration for the sculpture of a Kašela woman and the cake map showing the part of the coast between Split and Trogir, which has plenty to offer to the British. On the other hand, the culinary tradition of Kaštela has completely changed my attitude toward the method of preparing confectionery. This is the reason why I decided to include an additional ingredient as a sign of appreciation for the wine tradition of Kaštela – Kaštelanski crijenak, which, combined with cream and other chocolate ingredients, achieved an extraordinary taste – said Dadan, explaining that this is the reason she continued to use wine from Kašteli in other chocolate recipes.
The show was shot at the Croatian Embassy in London to commemorate the 110th anniversary of Kašteli tourism, and in one of the following weeks it will also be shown in Australia.
