Trilj - The Tilurij - Roman legion camp

Published in Culture and sights

The archaeological site of Tirulij and the Roman legion camp dating back to the 1st century is located in a strategically convenient position, dominating its surroundings and in this way having control over communications on the river Cetina.
It is diffused over a surface area of 12 ha, today this antique settlement is covered by part of the village known as Gardun, that bends around and for this reason is the combination between an archaeological site and an autochthonous rural environment.
