Sutivan - Parish Church of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Sutivan silhouette when viewed from the sea has a form od a big and beautiful parish church of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Built from 1576 - 1590 in a Late Renaissance style, later was annexed. At the end of 18th century was enlarged but preserved some baroque construction characteristics. After that, Petar Pavle Bertopelle from Vrboska on Hvar has built a thin bell-tower with roof in the form of bulb as well as a luxurious tabernacle of the main altar. Not to be missed in the church is Our Lady of Ružarija altar painting, piece of work of Italian Mannerist school from 17th century. The bell-tower was recently completely reconstructed.
