Klis - The Turkish drinking – fountain (česma)

Published in Culture and sights

The Turks built the drinking – fountain, tank, in a notch between Greben and Klis. Villagers call that drinking-fountain the Three Kings and it was built because the Turkish people particularly appreciated potable water. It was built from processed stone blocks in the form of a tank which represents the Mihrab type of the drinking-fountain and is the most western monument of eastern culture in these areas.
