The Square of St John is considered the most beautiful renaissance and baroque square in with a small church dating from the end of the 17th century. The square and surrounding streets, together with the town houses built from the 16th century, with dormers and balconies from the Renaissance period architecturally represent the best preserved part of Jelsa.
