PULLING OF MRDUJA

Islands Brač and Šolta are only 800 m distant but lack of ship connection made them more distant than they really are. Pulling of Mrduja traditionally organised each last weekend in July is one of the ways to connect these two islands. This event lasts two days and final party is each year organised at different island. Brass bands, local vocal groups, cultural and artistic companies and associations from both Šolta and Brač take part at Pulling as well as many residents of these islands participating directly with their boats .Two days a year direct connection between Brač and Šolta gives the opportunity to inhabitants of islands and their guests to visit the other island and get acquainted with it, all with the final target to enrich the tourist offer of both islands. So why wouldn’t you participate and pull.

Package can be organised for a period of two to three days. Framework programme of activities of three days package includes : 1. day: arrival to Mrduja Saturday afternoon and feeling the moment of pulling of Mrduja between residents of Šolta and Brač ; 2. day: party in Stomorska namely Milna , 3. day : free time for resting and swimming . Package can be realised once a year only , last weekend of July for individuals or groups from 2 to 20 persons. Accommodation can be organised in private apartments classified with three or four stars while transfer by boat – transfer of rented boat.
