In the period betwecz the 12th and - 14thceturies, Kaštil Slanica was a fortification for the Omiš pirates. Following the arrival of the Ottomans in this area, it becomes a salt trading place betwecz Omiš inhabitants and the Turks to which owns its currczt name - Slanica (slan - salted). Today, a restaurant has becz built on the ruins of the former market situated in the unique Cetina canyon.
