Over 260 Arrivals and Departures at Split Airport During Easter Holiday

Split Airport is preparing for a busy 5 days, from Thursday, April 14, to Monday, April 18. The Easter holidays also mark the beginning of the tourist season, although the summer flight schedule came into force at the end of March, announced Croatian Aviation.

More than 260 planes will land and take off at Split Airport from April 14-18, on regular domestic and international routes, and a number of charter lines have been announced that will mainly bring groups of tourists to Split during the Easter holidays 

There are a total of 14 different airlines, with easyJet announcing the largest number of international routes to Amsterdam, Bristol, Basel, Berlin, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Naples, Paris, and Geneva. The next is Croatia Airlines, which will operate from Split to Zagreb, Osijek, Munich, Frankfurt, Rome, Paris, Lyon, and London.

Two low-cost airlines, Volotea and Eurowings, have 5 routes each. Eurowings will operate to Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg and Dortmund, and Volotea announced regular operations for Marseille, Toulouse, Nantes, Lyon and Bordeaux. Lufthansa will regularly connect Frankfurt and Munich with Split, Vueling with Rome and Barcelona, and Condor with Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.

Other routes have been announced, such as Norwegian to Helsinki, Ryanair to Dublin, Transavia to Paris (Orly), Austrian Airlines to Vienna, KLM to Amsterdam and Edelweiss to Zurich. Domestic Trade Air lines to Rijeka, Dubrovnik, and Pula have also been announced.

The arrival of thousands of foreign tourists is expected in Split, who will stay in the city and its surroundings in the mentioned period.

On Easter Sunday, the Split Tourist Board is hosting a ‘Delicious Easter Morning’ at 11 am in Đardin Park, where music and 1000 sirnica Easter bread by Split confectionery Bobis, and 1000 Easter eggs painted by the Juraj Bonači Center for Education will be distributed. The program should last until 1 pm.

In the first quarter of this year, Split surpassed the record 2019 in terms of the number of overnight stays, as 128,500 overnight stays were recorded in the first three months of this year. In the record 2019, there were 101,390 overnight stays. In the first 14 days of April, there were 14,163 arrivals and 47,423 overnight stays. Most guests were from the USA, Germany, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

The Split Tourist Board expects the positive trend to continue, with the announcement of various cultural, sports, music and entertainment events and activities during the Easter holiday. 

“We want our guests to experience a positive holiday atmosphere, because that is exactly what everyone needs after these challenging times. We believe that many tourists will experience Split through this event of togetherness and tradition,” said Alijana Vukšić, director of the Split Tourist Board,  and wished everyone a happy and pleasant Easter.
