A race of an altogether more unusual kind this week in Central Dalmatia, as the annual Nikola Tesla EV Rally passed through Central Dalmatia for the first time.
More than 50 electric vehicles, including an impressive 47 Teslas, took part in the 8-day rally, from Istria to Zagreb via some of Croatia’s most spectacular scenery. Including Central Dalmatia of course!
The rally, which has included participants from 31 countries in the four years of its existence, spent two nights in Podstrana, where Hotel Le Meridien Lav has its own charging facility, and the rally took in a visit to Split, a trip to the Red and Blue Lakes in Imotski and a trip to Dugopolje, before heading north.
Central Dalmatia is fast becoming an important destination for electric car tourists, hosting two of only three superchargers in all Croatia – at Vrgorac and Dugopolje.
One of the activities the rally undertook was a skills speed test by Poljud stadium, the home of Hajduk Split. Check out the video of the event above.
