A visit to Škrip, the oldest and most authentic settlement preserving the history of millennial life on the island, offers a real return to the island of Brač’s former life. In just one hectare there is a sequence of cultures, from cyclopean prehistoric ramparts to Roman mausoleums, reliefs and sarcophagi. There are also late antique period churches and medieval tombs. Authentic peasants’ houses with white roofs, courtyards, a church with a bell tower and the Radojković defence tower complex built in the 16th century together with the Homeland Museum of the island of Brač, offers the unique experience of the history of this area.
