The Archaeological Museum Split

The Archaeological Museum in Split is the oldest museum in Croatia, founded back in 1820 so in 2020 it celebrates 200 years of existence. The museum holds about 150,000 archaeological monuments and artefacts and a valuable collection of archaeological objects from prehistory, from the period of the Greek colonisation of the Adriatic, Roman and early Christian period and the early Middle Ages.
