Stone fortifications

Stone fortifications scattered throughout Zagora  are today witness to the centuries of conquests and battles in that area whilst the tourist agencies’ programs include visits to the most important historical sights of the Dalmatian hinterland with emphasis on visiting the fortification facilities. The most impressive are the Tilurium in Gardun near Trilj, the Klis fortress, Gradina above Vrgorac, the Topana fortress in Imotski, the Prozor fortification in Vrlika, the Old Town in Sinj and the Čačvina fortification near Trilj.
