Standing tombstones

Standing tombstones are medieval monolithic stone monuments. They appeared from the second half of the 12^th century. Their first phase lasted throughout the 13^th century and were intensely carved and decorated during the 14^th and 15^th centuries. In Central Dalmatia, standing tombstones in Cista Velika – Velika and Mala Crljivica in Imotski region are now UNESCO protected.
