Standing tombstones are medieval monolithic stone monuments. They appeared from the second half of the 12th century. Their first phase lasted throughout the 13th century and were intensely carved and decorated during the 14th and 15th centuries. In Central Dalmatia, standing tombstones in Cista Velika – Velika and Mala Crljivica in Imotski region are now UNESCO protected.
