Sinj Alka is a knights’ tournament in Sinj, which has been taking place once a year since 1717 in the Cetina region. During the competition, knights ride on horses in full gallop down the main street, aiming their spear at an iron ring hanging on a rope. The name of the tournament is derived from the word alka or ring. Tournament rules promote fair play and the importance of participating in community life. Participants must be family members from the Sinj and Cetina regions.
