The picturesque peninsula of Saint Peter divides Makarska into two, whilst Cape Osejava frames the natural bays, wooded parks and promenades by the sea, which are ideal for visitors, recreationists and nature lovers. These are unavoidable places for evening walks and watching sunsets, with the most beautiful view of the city, the islands and Mount Biokovo that rises just above it. The Peninsula of St Peter, situated at the entrance to the town’s port, is a park with a long promenade, with beaches surrounded by beautiful nature and a lighthouse dating back to 1884 together with the  13th century St Peter’s church.
