Hvar winemakers’ wines

The long history of wine production on the island of Hvar dates back to times when the ancient Greek settlers planted the first vines here. Even today, Hvar inhabitants, accustomed to modest living and hard work in the fields, refresh themselves with labourers’ drinks (a combination of red wine and still water) of wine and rainwater which the island’s winemakers keep in their taverns.
