The Split Fish Market is an architectural monument built more than 120 years ago in the Art Nouveau style. It is the only semi-open fish market in the world on whose marble slabs you will never see flies, despite the tons of fresh fish and seafood delicacies! This is because the Split Fish Market was built in 1890 in the immediate vicinity of the sulfur source of the nearby thermae in Marmontova Street, whose smell still drives away insects. Besides being a place of daily supply, the fish market is a place where visitors and locals alike meet, talk and exchange
