Central Dalmatia Visitor Centre to Open in Dugopolje in 2016

Many visitors to Central Dalmatia arrive by car, and the Dugopolje exit close to Split is a popular entry point. This is a fascinating destination in itself with the spectacular Vranjaca Cave and the first thematic Roman road newly opened, but for many the destination is Split, the beach or the islands.

There will be a very good reason to stay a little longer in Dugopolje from next year, as an interactive Central Dalmatia Visitor Centre will open, just one kilometre from the motorway, offering a one-stop shop of the region’s tourism offers and experiences. Be sure to drop by once open, and learn more about this extremely welcoming and diverse region, and discover some of its many cultural and natural treasures away from the beach.

A Sneak Preview of the New Alka Museum in Sinj

2015 is an extremely important year for the inland Dalmatian town of Sinj, and all eyes will be on the town in August, as the historic 300th Sinj Alka Tournament takes place. The annual tournament, which attracts live television coverage and a visit from Croatia’s President each year, commemorates the Siege of Sinj in 1715.

It is an event which is rich in tradition and history, and this year’s event will also be marked by the opening of the much-anticipated Sinj Alka Museum – also scheduled for August – which will allow visitors the opportunity to learn about the rich Alka history and tradition all year round.

Here are some images of how the museum will look. It promises to be a quality addition to tourism in Sinj, and Central Dalmatia as a whole.
