Rogač is the oldest village on the island of Šolta, and thanks to its vicinity to Split, it is the main port of the island. In spite of its great position, Rogač has never been densely inhabited because of the frequent danger of the pirate attacks, but also because of the distance from the fertile soil of Šolta. Rogač today is a real tourist village that besides its untouched natural surroundings and limpid sea, also offers a variety of accommodation solutions and tasty home-made cooking. Rogač also has a lot of hidden treasures from the Roman period. Its ancient walls in the sea and the remains of a Roman farm building in Banje bay are also of interest.
