The Old Olive
Dalmatian beauty

There is a particular natural monument in Kaštel Štafilić, an olive-tree that is more than 1500 years old. It is presumed to have originated from either Southern Italy or Greece and is called the Old Olive (Olea Europea) or Mastrinka, as the local inhabitants call it.
Oil from this olive tree is used as an autochthonous Kaštela souvenir, packaged in Greek glass Lacrimarums. In 1990, it was proclaimed a natural monument.
