Humac is a former shepherd's village, seven kilometres to the east of Jelsa, at an altitude of 350 metres a.s.l., from which a view over the coves and capes of the western side of the island of Hvar but also to the island of Brač and Makarska Littoral extend. This village was founded in the 17th century with simple and well-preserved houses built of stone, making a unique whole of this rural architecture and as such it is considered to be an ethnographic monument.
