The Manastirine is the most important Old Christian cemetery of Salona in which Solin, bishop of Dujam, martyred and killed during the first persecution of Christians in 304 during the period of the emperor Diocletian is also buried. In the 5th century, above his tomb a big three-nave basilica was built. Here don Frane Bulić, archaeologist and conservationist and head-master of the Split Archaeological Museum is also buried. His memorial room is today situated in the Tusculum, a house for archaeological works.
