The River Vrljika is an underground stream river, and although small, it represents the jugular vein of the location of Imotski.
The source of the river, its upper course and its banks up to 100m of expansion are protected natural resources. It is full of biodiversity and endemic species (especially fish), and as well as this, is mostly unexplored so its real value is unknown.
